The province is gearing up for a very exciting weekend of soccer. The Ontario Summer Games and the Ontario Cup Quarter Final Round have arrived.

This week, teams in the U-15 Boys Tier 1 and U-15 Girls divisions will compete for both the Ontario Cup trophy and the Ontario Summer Games gold medal.

Being held this year in Windsor, the Ontario Summer Games will have almost 2,500 athletes participating in 28 different sports. Athletes and teams will be competing all over the city, with everyone striving for a gold medal performance. All soccer games will be held at McHugh Park.

The Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for Thursday, August 7, at 7:00pm at the University of Windsor Alumni Stadium. At the ceremonies, players, coaches, and managers will take part in a truly fantastic "Olympic style" event. For more information concerning the Opening Ceremonies, visit the Ontario Summer Games Website.

For the tournament itself, eight teams from both divisions will play in a Round Robin format, followed by the Finals.

The Ontario Cup Quarter-Final Round is set to take place on August 9-10. In 13 divisions ranging from U-13 to Men and Women, teams from all across the province will fight for a spot in the Ontario Cup Semi-Finals. There is plenty of opportunity to get out there and watch some great soccer. For a schedule of games, see below.
