The 2014 Masters/Classics Regional Club Championships concluded last weekend, with the Masters (O-35 Men) in St. John, New Brunswick and the Classics (O-35 Women) in Calgary, Alberta. The Ottawa Royals represented Ontario in both the Masters and Classics divisions – a feat this club has now achieved two years in a row.

The competition is a Round Robin Tournament format, with each team playing in a placement game on Sunday. The Ottawa Royals Masters O-35 Men was able to come away with bronze. The Ottawa Royals Classics O-35 Women lost a pair of close 1-0 games in their group stage and were eliminated from the medal round. They redeemed themselves with a 3-1 win over Manitoba’s Classics SC in the 5th vs 6th game.

Congratulations to both teams for a successful competition. Look for these sides to contend again next year for the Provincial Championship and another shot at Regionals.
