Match Report

In the first game of the day, AG London took on the North London Galaxy in the U-13 Girls Ontario Indoor Cup final in front of a boisterous crowd, who had braved wild winter conditions to be in attendance.

AG London applied tireless pressure in the early going but was rebuked time and again by the North London keeper who held her team in the game.

But AG London was finally able to breakthrough as Emily Andrus was sprung by a midfield pass, sent in alone and slipped it past the keeper for the opening goal of the game. On the play though, a North London player suffered a severe head injury and was down on the turf for nearly 30 minutes while she was being attended to. Emergency Medical Services was called to the field and treated the girl on site.

When play resumed, North London seemed to rally around her teammate and created several chances but it was AG London who found the net when Kaila Novak broke to her left and scored a beauty across the face of goal to make it 2-0 AG London.

Sofia Miller would make it 3-0 just after halftime as AG London started strong after the break.

But North London would respond shortly after, when a screaming free kick from 20-yards out by Julia Popovic found the top corner of the net.

Madison Wilson would make it 3-2 when she headed in a North London corner with three minutes remaining.
