’Let’s Get Coaching!’ Coming To Ontario

Free community-level coach training is coming to Ontario in celebration of the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan AM Games. 

Starting in January 2015, the City of Toronto, in partnership with the Coaches Association of Ontario and more than 25 Provincial Sport Organizations, will offer free community-level coach training to Toronto residents aged 16 years and older.

The Let’s Get Coaching! program will run over 100 courses, including Fundamental Movement Skills and a variety of sport-specific workshops from the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).

Host Showcase Program

Let’s Get Coaching! is part of Toronto’s Host City Showcase Program. This Council-approved program is designed to ensure a legacy of long-term community benefits and to enhance the experience of the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games for residents and visitors. Through Let’s Get Coaching!, 2,015 new coaches will be trained in Toronto to encourage sport development and healthy living. The Host City Showcase Program includes dozens of innovative projects with long-term community benefits such as new and expanded community activities and cultural celebrations, new sport and recreation programs, and economic development and tourism initiatives.
