It’s not very often that a referee gets such thorough applause for their work.

But Windsor’s Joey Fillipic, at 21-years-old, is no ordinary referee.

This week the Windsor Star profiled the young referee after he was selected to call games at the Ontario Summer Games – including one of the finals, something often reserved for the most senior referees.
