It's being called the final before the final in the Women's World Cup and it's a game that will be in the hands of an Ontario referee.
Carol Anne Chenard, a native of Ottawa, has been called on to centre the France vs Germany quarterfinal in Montreal on Friday at 4pm.
The two pre-tournament favourites will meet head on with a right to advance to semi-finals on the line. Chenard was the lead official in group games between Germany and the Ivory Coast, England and Colombia, and Brazil and Spain.
Also she was a featured speaker at the OSA's Soccer Development Conference in the spring and has been a regular contributor to referee development courses around Canada. She spoke with OSA TV about the importance of referee development and continued education.
