The OPDL Charity Shield this Saturday Nov. 14 will have two world-class match officials at the helm.

Silviu Petrescu, the 2012 MLS referee of the year, and Carol Anne Chenard, who was appointed to the FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada, will both be calling games this weekend.

Petrescu, who will officiate the Boys U-14 game between Ottawa South United and Richmond Hill, will be partnered with Nick Morrell and Jay Jeong, two impressive assistant referees from the SWRSA district. The fourth official will be Brian Butler, an ART Provincial official.

Chenard, who will officiate the Girls U-14 game between the Whitby Iroquois and Burlington Bayhawks, will be paired with talented assistant referees Kaitlyn Bergsma from Huronia and Denise Klein-Horsman from Oakville SC.  The fourth official will be Donna Chung, an experienced official from PHSA.

The event is designed to celebrate OPDL License Holders for their achievements, as well as contribute to charity organizations operating in Ontario. Admission is $5.

All proceeds from the games will be split between the winners of each game (male and female) and donated to charities indicated by the License Holders.

The games will be broadcast live. Subscribe to the OSA livestream channel to be notified when the games kick-off.
