At the Canada Soccer Annual General Meeting, Ontario match official Carol Anne Chenard was singled out for her achievements.
Chenard was presented the 2016 International Achievement Award by Canada Soccer.
The Canada Soccer International Achievement Award celebrates Canadian referees who have been included on the FIFA List of Referees for five consecutive years.
The official must have officiated in at least five international “A” matches or ten international “B” or international club team matches, or one or more of FIFA’s tournaments or any reasonable combination thereof during the five years that his/her name appeared on the FIFA List.
The official must have been a worthy ambassador of his/her province/territory and Canada Soccer during the five years that his/her name appeared on the FIFA list.
The official must also have completed outstanding work as an active referee or assistant referee within his/her provincial/territorial and/or national association and become a leader and an example of his/her fellow referees prior to, as well as during the five years that his/her name appeared on the FIFA List.
