Do You Want To Help Shape The Future Of Ontario Soccer?

Have your ever wanted to help make a difference in Ontario soccer? Do you know someone with experience in sports administration or advising board decisions? The OSA Nominations Committee is currently accepting applications for a number of committee roles. If you think you know someone who would be a good fit, or are ready to get involved, read the board descriptions and fill out the application.

Deadline for applications has been extended until Nov. 30 at 5 p.m.

Standing Committee Descriptions:

Audit Committee
The Audit Committee is a Standing Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for overseeing and evaluating the Auditor’s Report and its recommendations; and for overseeing the financial reporting and external audit function.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is a Standing Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to corporate auditing and reporting, financial policies and strategies, and financial risk management. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to compliance with applicable rules and regulations for its corporate governance structure and for taking a holistic approach ensuring that governance responsibilities are met.

Human Resources Committee
The Human Resources Committee is a Standing Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities for providing and sustaining human resources policies for The OSA.

Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee is a Standing Committee of the Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to the appointment of the Chairs and Members of the various OSA Committees. Click here to apply Risk Management Committee The Risk Management Committee is a Standing Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association(OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to The OSA’s full range of risk management activities, harassment and volunteer screening policies and for sustaining a Gender Equity policy.

Strategic Planning Committee
The Strategic Planning Committee is a Standing Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to the development, revision and monitoring of the long term goals (i.e., mission, vision and values) and objectives of The OSA.

Judicial Committee Descriptions:

Discipline & Appeals Committee
The Discipline and Appeals Committee is a Judicial Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to delivering Discipline and Appeals processes in a fashion that is considered at arm’s length from the Board.

Competitions Committee
The Competitions Committee is an Operational Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to delivering a provincial championship program, commonly referred to as the Ontario Cup, for Outdoor, Indoor and Futsal Club Teams and for facilitating the execution of Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) or interprovincial sanctioned events involving Club or provincial All Star teams.

Information Management Systems (IMS) Oversight Committee
The Information Management System (IMS) Oversight Committee is an Operational Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities associated with the purchase, installation, debugging, maintenance and when warranted, replacement of the OSA’s application for the registration of players, game officials, teams, and administrators and the creation and publication of various reports associated with the data retained in the application’s data base.

League Management Committee
The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to delivering a Pyramid for Play (i.e. Competitive) structure for OSA sanctioned amateur and non-amateur Club teams and when appropriate, for teams from outside of Ontario. Also, for overseeing the operation of Senior Level 1 through to Senior Level 5, Youth Level 1 through to Youth Level 5 leagues. And, the oversight of Level 5 leagues is only applicable for leagues governed by The OSA.

Referee Development Committee
The Referee Development Committee is an Operational Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities to lead the recruitment, development and retention of referee, instructors and assessors in the Province of Ontario. In addition, the Referee Development Committee shall act as a resource to support the development of the programs for individuals to be an integral and positive partner/contribution/role in the game of soccer.

Technical Advisory Committee
The Technical Advisory Committee is an Operational Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible in assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to the implementation of a Long Term Player Development Plan (LTPD) within Ontario and all technical operations related to Playing, Coaching, Refereeing and the Competitive Structure of The OSA.

Women in Soccer Committee
The Women in Soccer Committee is an Operational Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to increasing the participation of females in the soccer- related areas of coaching, refereeing and administration or as athletes.

Special Committee Description:

Rules Review Committee
The Rules Rewrite Committee is a Special Committee of The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Board. The Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities associated with the creation, modification and enforcement of rules and policies for matters related to Clubs, Leagues, Player Registration, Referees, Competitions, Protests, Dispute Resolution, Harassment, Gender Equity, Provincial Teams, Coaches, and Indoor Soccer. Collectively, these aforementioned policies will be referred to as OSA Member Policies.
