OSA Announces New Hire For Senior Coordinator, Leagues

The OSA are pleased to announce the appointment of Gabriel Assis to the role of Senior Coordinator, Leagues.

This critical League role will oversee the administrative and operational activities of the Ontario Player Development League working closely with technical staff to ensure standards are maintained and that the League continues to go from strength to strength.

Assis joins the department following a successful two years with the OSA Match Officials department, where he became a key member of the team, led a number of new initiatives and provided leadership and guidance on the development pathway and programming for Match Officials and Instructors.

Originally from Brazil, he has studied Law and Human Resources and is currently concluding a Business Program. In the soccer industry, Gabriel is a Match Official for Soccer, Futsal and a Match Official Instructor. as well as an OSA Discipline Chair. After completing the FIFA Grassroots Course he has become a LTPD enthusiast, actively collaborating with the creation and implementation of LTPD educational programs for Match Official across Ontario and Canada. Previous to his current position, Gabriel was a Club Head Referee and Operations Coordinator at the Mississauga Soccer club and served as a member of the OSA Referee Development Committee.

Assis will officially take on his new role May 11 and look to connect with OPDL Clubs on and off the field in the very near future.
