Learn More About The Centre Circle Winners

Each year The Ontario Soccer Association presents the Centre Circle Awards. These Meritorious Awards are the OSA's highest recognition and exemplify those who have made an outstanding contribution to the game of soccer in Ontario.

Hamilton Sparta SC - Centre Circle Award (Club)

Hamilton Sparta SC (Hamilton & District Soccer Association) was recognized with a Meritorious Service Award for significant contributions to the development of the game of soccer and enhancing the quality of life in their communities for a decade or more. Hamilton Sparta President John Valvasori spoke on behalf of the club. 

Mount Hamilton Youth SC - Centre Circle Award (Club)

Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club (Hamilton & District Soccer Association) was recognized with a Meritorious Service Award for significant contributions to the development of the game of soccer and enhancing the quality of life in their communities for a decade or more. Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club Vice President Leo Cavalluzzo accepted on behalf of the club. 

Oshawa N.A.S.C. Soccer - Centre Circle Award (Club)

Oshawa N.A.S.C. Soccer was recognized with a Meritorious Service Award for significant contributions to the development of the game of soccer and enhancing the quality of life in their communities for a decade or more. Oshawa N.A.S.C. Soccer President Reg LeDuc accepted on behalf of the club.

Nadia Tornifoglia - Centre Circle Award (Individual)

Nadia Tornifoglia (Hamilton & District Soccer Association) received a Meritorious Service Award for special service to the game of soccer for 20 years or more.

George Babiolakis - Centre Circle Award (Individual)

George Babiolakis (Ontario Youth Soccer League) received a Meritorious Service Award for special service to the game of soccer for 20 years or more.

John Knox - Life Membership Award

John Knox, inducted into the Centre Circle as an OSA Life Member, speaks about his career in the game. Knox has served at every level of the game, including as past President and Vice-President of the OSA. At the Canadian Soccer Association, Knox served two terms on the Executive Committee, in addition to having sat on three committees. Currently, he is the chairman of the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame and Museum, sits as a member of the CSA Appeals Committee and is the CSA FIFA National Security Officer.

Colin Jose - President's Award

Les Jones and Michael Smith discuss Centre Circle Inductee Colin Jose's immense contribution to soccer. Jose is the pre-eminent authority on the history of soccer in North America, including the author of Keeping Score – A Canadian Encyclopedia of Soccer. He is the historian for the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame & Museum and Historian Emeritus for the National Soccer Hall of Fame in the United States, whose Media Award is named in his honour.
