With lots of focus on OPDL clubs in the Ottawa area, it's important to remember that many started their work years in advance of an OPDL License being awarded.

One of those Clubs is Ottawa South United, who recently received their Gold Club Excellence Award from OSA President Ron Smale. OSA President Bill Michalopulos credits the work of their volunteers and staff. 

"The passionate volunteers and professional staff who have dedicated themselves over many years in continuing to improve OSU and creating a continuous culture of excellence," Michalopulos said.

Of the current 16 OPDL License holders, 15 were Club Excellence Silver or Gold Awardees at the time of application, with the 16th club (Hamilton United Elite SC) representing the development of high performance programs from existing Club Excellence clubs in the area.
