Toronto FC announced Friday that the club has loaned goalkeeper Clint Irwin to Toronto FC II of the United Soccer League (USL). The Young Reds host Canadian rivals FC Montreal this Sunday, August 28 at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan with kick-off set for 4:00 p.m.

Irwin, 27, is currently in his first season with Toronto FC and recovering from a thigh injury suffered earlier in the season. He has made a combined 18 appearances with a 7-5-5 record, registering eight clean sheets across MLS league play and the Amway Canadian Championship.

“We are all excited for Clint as his road to recovery will take another step forward this weekend. This will be a great opportunity for Clint to get some meaningful match minutes as he makes his return from injury,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “This is also an exciting chance for our fans in Vaughan to see a first team starter play for TFC II.”

A limited number of tickets are on sale and can be purchased by calling the team’s ticket line at (416)-360-GOAL (4625) or by visiting www.tfc2.ca.
