For the third match of the day at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre, Mississauga Soccer Academy claimed the U16 Girls Indoor Cup championship with a composed and resilient victory over Hamilton United, overturning an early deficit to earn the title.

The match began at a fast tempo, and Hamilton United struck first just two minutes in. Myah Ragona found space early and finished her chance to give Hamilton United a 1–0 lead. Moments later, Hamilton United nearly doubled the advantage, sending another effort toward goal, but the Mississauga Soccer Academy goalkeeper Alyssa Afonso reacted quickly to prevent the ball from sneaking under the crossbar.

The next stretch of the match saw both teams settle into a rhythm. For the opening 15 minutes, possession was traded back and forth through the middle of the pitch, with both defences remaining compact and disciplined. Neither Hamilton United nor Mississauga Soccer Academy allowed a clean breakthrough into the final third, keeping the scoreline unchanged as the pace continued.

Chances were traded at both ends, but strong defensive play ensured the match remained 1–0 heading toward halftime.

The turning point arrived in the 25 minute when Mississauga Soccer Academy found the equalizer. Adele Leja received a forward pass inside the Hamilton United area, worked around two defenders under pressure in the crease, and fired a shot on target. The Hamilton United goalkeeper was unable to fully control the initial save, and Anneli Teeaar reacted first, finishing the rebound to tie the match.

Just one minute later, Mississauga Soccer Academy struck again. After a teammate unleashed a long‑range effort on goal, Teeaar once more found herself in the right place, capitalizing on another rebound to complete a brace and give Mississauga Soccer Academy a 2–1 lead.

Hamilton United looked to respond in the 30 minute when Sienna Luciana sent a grounded effort toward goal, but it was comfortably handled by Afonso, who remained composed in net for Mississauga Soccer Academy.

Momentum swung toward Mississauga Soccer Academy following the quick turnaround, though Hamilton United refused to relent. Hamilton United continued to press with several shots on target but was unable to convert.

In the 35 minute, Mississauga Soccer Academy extended the lead. The ball was played directly into the path of Presley Rowe, who struck a precise shot from the deep right corner into the bottom left side of the net, out of reach of the Hamilton United goalkeeper, making it 3–1.

Despite the deficit, Hamilton United continued to battle on both sides of the ball. Mississauga Soccer Academy’s Lordina Owusu nearly added a fourth goal soon after, but her effort was struck almost directly at goal and saved.

The decisive moment came in the 42 minute when Mississauga Soccer Academy added their fourth goal. Leja found space and finished a tight‑angle shot deep into the left side of the net, leaving the Hamilton United goalkeeper little chance.

Hamilton United continued to compete until the final whistle, showing determination and resilience. Ultimately, Mississauga Soccer Academy’s clinical finishing and ability to capitalize on key moments proved the difference.
