Play. Inspire. Unite.

On a snowy, blizzard‑like Sunday morning, DERO TFC Academy captured the U14 Boys Indoor Cup title with a hard‑fought 2–1 victory over Brampton Elite at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre.

The final opened with both teams trading possession in the middle of the pitch, setting a competitive tone early. While the pace was high, clear chances were limited as both defences stayed compact and disciplined, denying penetration into the final third.

The first real opportunity came in the seventh minute when Emile Nedd of DERO TFC Academy burst past two defenders and slipped beyond the last line. Brampton Elite goalkeeper Andrew Holmes reacted quickly, charging off his line to block the shot and keep the match scoreless.

DERO TFC Academy continued to threaten. Adrian Princiotta appeared to have opened the scoring midway through the half when his shot beat Holmes and rolled toward the goal line, but Brampton Elite tracked back and cleared the ball just in time to prevent the breakthrough.

By the 15 minute, DERO TFC Academy was enjoying the majority of possession, yet Brampton Elite’s defence remained sharp and organized. Brampton looked dangerous on the counter, but DERO TFC Academy’s recovery runs shut down those chances before they could develop.

Just before halftime, Aydan Brobbey found space directly in front of goal with no defender between him and the net. Once again, Holmes came up with a crucial save, preserving the 0–0 scoreline heading into the break.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 29 minute. Under pressure from a Brampton Elite defender, Nedd showed composure, turning sharply before firing a shot into the top left corner of the net to give DERO TFC Academy a 1–0 lead.

With the advantage, DERO TFC Academy began to dictate the tempo, dominating possession while Brampton Elite worked to stay within striking distance. Their pressure paid off again in the 35 minute when Princiotta struck a low shot into the bottom left corner, just out of the reach of Holmes, doubling the lead to 2–0.

Brampton Elite responded with urgency. In the 38 minute, Joel Youaleu delivered a perfectly weighted cross from the right corner that Elias Merani controlled with his chest before finishing to pull Brampton Elite back into the match.

Momentum briefly swung Brampton’s way. Adrian Neves nearly equalized in the 39 minute on a fast break, sending his shot just over the crossbar. A minute later, Brampton came even closer when another attempt struck the left post, signalling a strong late push.

Despite the pressure, DERO TFC Academy remained composed through the closing minutes, managing the game effectively to see out the result and secure a 2–1 victory.
