There are proven benefits to playing futsal for the overall skill development of young players, with particular emphasis on their physical literacy as well as fundamental technical skills such as dribbling, passing and ball control. Futsal is played on a court surface, as opposed to traditional soccer that is played on grass and/or artificial turf.
The sport of Futsal is a key priority for Ontario Soccer, as identified in its 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, with the overarching aim to grow and develop the sport through programs, services and new initiatives.
After the launch of Futsal League Ontario (FLO), Ontario Soccer is excited to announce the 2026 Grassroots Futsal Festivals; a series of fun and developmentally focused festivals designed for grassroots players to experience futsal in a supportive environment. These events offer a unique opportunity for players to grow their skills in a format adapted to their age and ability level.
This year, Ontario Soccer will host eight (8) festivals at Loyola Catholic Secondary School (4010 Sladeview Crescent, Mississauga, ON L5l 6B1) with four (4) festivals dedicated to female teams and four (4) to male teams. Each festival will take place on one day and consist of three games for each team. A maximum of 8 team entries exists per division. The cost for one team to enter is $275.00, and if clubs enter multiple teams, we will award a multi-team discount to cost each team $225.00.
The details of each age group are as follows:
