Play. Inspire. Unite.

Canada Soccer is proud to announce that 54 clubs across five provinces have been selected for Year 3 of the TELUS She CAN Coach program—a national initiative aimed at recruiting, developing, and training women coaches at the grassroots level.

Ontario leads the way with 23 participating clubs, reflecting the province’s strong commitment to advancing gender equity in soccer.

TELUS She CAN Coach is a national coach recruitment, development, and training initiative designed to address the barriers women face in soccer participation. As a club-based initiative, TELUS She CAN Coach engages and collaborates with community clubs across participating provinces to strengthen our game—aiming to close the gender gap in participation by increasing the number of women coaches at the grassroots level.

This year marks a continued expansion from the program’s first two years, which together have engaged 70 community clubs and over 600 women coaches, reinforcing Canada Soccer’s commitment to increasing the representation of women coaches in grassroots soccer. Of the 54 participating clubs, 15 are returning, while the remainder are new to the program.

By partnering with community clubs, TELUS She CAN Coach is helping to close the gender gap in soccer and create more inclusive coaching environments across Canada.

Congratulations to the 23 participating ontario clubs!

Supporting Women Coaches at the Grassroots Level

The TELUS She CAN Coach program focuses on women interested in beginning or advancing their coaching journeys. The program supports participants through Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Coach Education, breaking down barriers and providing tools for long-term success. By nurturing women coaches at the grassroots level, the initiative helps to create lasting change not only in soccer but in community leadership as well.

Year 2 proved that TELUS She CAN Coach drives real change by breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for women in coaching. As we enter Year 3, the program expands into Saskatchewan and Newfoundland & Labrador, while continuing in returning provinces. We are doubling down on what works: intentional recruitment, strong support networks, and targeted guidance to help coaches navigate the system with confidence.
