Ontario Soccer proudly congratulates and thanks the Match Officials who played a key role in the 2025 OPDL Gary Miller Charity Shield. This year’s event, hosted at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre on October 25 and 26, brought together top talent from across the province and raised vital funds for Ontario charities including 50% of the overall proceeds going to SickKids.
Across two action-packed days, eight matches were managed by a team of 16 dedicated Match Officials, representing eight Districts. Wearing their O’Neills Match Officials jerseys, these individuals demonstrated professionalism, composure, and teamwork to ensure every game was fair, safe, and enjoyable.
Ontario Soccer also extends appreciation to the Mentors and Assessors who supported Match Official development throughout the weekend:
Matthew Arduini, Mark Roberts, Jason Hanley, Vito Curralli, and Nick Vagenas.
On Saturday evening, the match officials attended an education session reviewing and discussing key themes from the first day of the event as they continue to develop and improve.
Ontario Soccer remains committed to fostering the next generation of Match Officials and celebrating their vital role in the game.
