Sunday, July 20 at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre Stadium, the U18 Girls Final in the 2025 MilkUP Ontario Cup saw Vaughan Azzurri take on Windsor Croatia SC, with Vaughan emerging victorious by a convincing 3–0 scoreline.
The contest got off to a slow start, as both teams carved out shooting opportunities only to see their efforts stifled by resolute defending. Shot after shot was blocked or cleared, thwarting any real early threats on goal.
Vaughan finally broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, when Mia Lavorato drove the ball upfield, weaving past a couple of defenders before threading a pass to Olivia Dicesare, who calmly slotted it past the goalkeeper. Ten minutes later, Alia Cutone unleashed a stunning strike from distance in the 42nd minute, doubling Vaughan’s advantage just before the break. The teams headed into the interval with the score at 2–0.
Early in the second half, Vaughan nearly added a third. In the 52nd minute, Bianca Pitaniello carried the ball into the box and laid it off to Nicole Verissimo, who tapped it in with her left foot - but the flag went up for offside. A minute later, Verissimo attempted a looping effort of her own, only to see it rebound off the crossbar.
Vaughan finally put the result beyond doubt in the 55th minute, when Sophia Avveduto collected a pass from Pitaniello at midfield and surged toward goal, before firing a precise left‑footed finish into the net. That strike made it 3–0, and though Windsor Croatia pressed late on, Vaughan’s defence held firm to secure the MilkUP Ontario Cup crown.
