Note: Player recommendation packages submitted using the online process will be the only ones that will be reviewed. Incomplete or inaccurate packages will not be considered for review.
This will allow players in Ontario, currently participating outside the Talented Player Pathway (OPDL and League1 Ontario), to have an opportunity to be recommended by a qualified Ontario Soccer Member Organization’s Head Coach or Technical Director.
To be considered as a qualified coach, they must have a minimum of a valid Concacaf or Canada Soccer National B Diploma OR Youth Licence OR a foreign equivalent. Submissions from non-qualified or certified coaches (i.e. Canadian National B Licence Trained) will not be considered.
Before beginning the process, it is highly recommended that the coach, player and parent read and understand the information on the Recommendation Process found on the Ontario Soccer website.
After reviewing the submission guidelines online and requirements below, the online submission form can be accessed and completed online here: 2025 Talent on Location Day Player Recommendation Form | Ontario Soccer
The submitted video will be professionally tagged and analyzed by Major Sports Analysis (MSA), as the preferred Ontario Soccer Service Provider, with a report containing performance related statistics for each recommended player being generated in the process. Key Performance Indicators and Statistical Benchmarks will be compared to those within the OPDL to determine whether an invitation will be extended to each player. The Ontario Soccer Provincial Xcel Program will review the player recommendation packages as a whole and assess if the player should receive an invite to the next stage of evaluation which will be held in person in September.
Players who are successful in the online recommendation process for U15, U16 & U17 age groups will be invited to an in-person screening event scheduled for September 27 & 28, 2025. This event will be run exclusively for the players selected from the ToLD Player Recommendation Process requiring a pre-registration and payment of $125. Players who are successful in this stage will then be extended an invitation to participate in the 2026 Provincial Screening Competition.
The recommending coach is to submit the completed online package by, or before, the closing date listed below for the respective 2026 Age groups and Birth years through the form here as per the following deadlines:
U14 Deadline: October 3, 2025 at 11:59 pm
U15, U16 & U17 Deadline: August 29, 2025 at 11:59 pm
Players and their recommending coach will be contacted by the Provincial Xcel Program if selected to participate. The Provincial Screening Competition (PSC) takes place annually from late February to early April. Dates are posted on our website and communicated via Information Bulletin to Ontario Soccer Members once confirmed.
The email to the invited players will contain additional details (i.e. report time) and any other documentation that will need to be completed prior to the event. These documents will be submitted when completing the online registration prior to attending the PSC.
The Provincial Screening Competition will take place at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre, formerly known as the Ontario Soccer Centre, 7601 Martin Grove Road, Vaughan L4L 9E4, on a full-size indoor turf field.
If you have any questions regarding the submission process, please contact the Ontario Soccer Provincial Xcel Team at provincialxcel@ontariosoccer.net.
