It was another exciting chapter in the Ontario-Quebec Series as Ontario’s Provincial Xcel Teams delivered a strong performance over the course of the 2025 Provincial Xcel Showcase Weekend, held May 16 to 18 at the Bois-de-Boulogne Sports Complex in Laval, Quebec.
Team O competed in 12 matches over the course of the weekend where we saw Ontario squads emerge with an impressive overall record of 8-3-1 (eight wins, one loss and three draws), collecting a total of 27 points. The U15 and U17 Ontario teams faced their Soccer Québec counterparts in a trio of tightly contested three-game series, continuing the annual rivalry between Canada’s two leading provincial soccer programs.
Building on last year’s enhanced digital storytelling, the 2025 edition marked the inaugural use of Ontario Soccer’s new mobile app, MySoccer Presented by BMO. Through the app, every match of the Ontario-Quebec Series was livestreamed, allowing fans to support Team Ontario from anywhere. In addition, exclusive post-match interviews with the Players of the Match offered further insight into the action. Missed the games? Catch the replays by downloading the app here.
The Showcase once again provided a stage for some of the top emerging talent in Canadian soccer. Ontario Soccer’s Provincial Xcel Program is a key component of the Talented Player Pathway and Long-Term Player Development framework, offering a crucial bridge for Ontario’s most talented youth players to advance to elite levels of the game. The Ontario-Quebec Series will return to Ontario in 2026, as the venue continues to alternate between provinces annually.
