Ontario Soccer is thrilled to announce that we will host the 2025 Canada Soccer Player-Development Program (PDP) Championship at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ontario. This prestigious youth competition will kick off on August 27 and culminate with Finals Day on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Following a successful site visit earlier this spring, Canada Soccer has officially confirmed Ontario Soccer’s facilities for this exciting event. In addition to the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre, two neighbouring fields at Vaughan Grove Sports Park have been approved for use throughout the championship.

The PDP Championship is a key part of Canada Soccer’s Youth Competitions Network, showcasing the best of youth soccer in Canada across four divisions: PDP U-17 Cup (Boys and Girls) and PDP U-15 Cup (Boys and Girls). From August 27-30, the 32 top teams will compete in group stage matches, leading into medal and ranking matches on Finals Day, August 31.

We are honoured to be selected as hosts for the 2025 PDP Championship and to welcome Canada's top youth talent to Ontario. This event not only showcases the next generation of Canadian soccer stars but also highlights the strength of our Ontario Player Development League, the programs of our provincial counterparts, and the incredible facilities we have here.

This marks the second edition of the PDP Championship and the first time the competition will feature 32 qualified youth teams, selected from a pool of 166 teams participating in standards-based youth leagues across the country: the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL), Alberta Player Development League (APDL), Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), and Québec Youth Soccer Premier League (PLSJQ).

In addition to the incredible youth talent on the field, the 2025 PDP Championship will feature Canada's top young match officials from Canada Soccer’s Elite Referee Development Program, including Ontario’s own rising refereeing stars.

Ontario Soccer is proud to play a pivotal role in the evolution of the PDP Championship, as Canada Soccer rotates hosting duties between the four provinces that operate standards-based youth leagues: Alberta (2024), Ontario (2025), Québec (2026), and British Columbia (2027).

As we look ahead to this incredible event, be sure to catch our preview of the 2025 OPDL season and find out what else is in store for Ontario Soccer’s high performance program this year.

Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to welcome the nation’s best to Vaughan for an unforgettable 2025 PDP Championship!
