Ontario Soccer is proud to release the remainder of teams for the 2025 Provincial Xcel Program. Today’s announcement include the Under 14 Boys and Girls squads – rounding off the full player list for the 2025 Xcel program as the u15, u16 and u17s were released last week.
With selections now complete, the U14 squads move into a preparation stage, training with Provincial Xcel coaching staff before their Showcase weekend May 10-11 at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ontario.
Bryan Rosenfeld – who has led the Provincial Program for many years as a member of Ontario Soccer’s Development Team, and also as a player - highlighted the incredible 2025 class, specifically at the u14 age group this year.
We are excited about the depth of player talent amongst all the age groups, especially at U14’s,” said Bryan Rosenfeld, Senior Manager, Development & Provincial Xcel last week when the bulk of rosters were release.
With the U14s rosters now being released, he added, “It’s great to see so many talented players entering the program at the youngest age-group because it’s a very promising sign for the growth of player development through our Grassroots programming across the province. And I’m excited to see where these athletes’ careers take them.
The U14 Provincial Xcel Showcase will feature an all-star series with the best players in the province at that age group going head-to-head while the remaining groups, the U15’s and U17’s, will participate in a showcase series against the Quebec Soccer Federation’s (QSF) Provincial Teams at the Complexe Multi-Sports De Laval in Laval, Quebec from May 16-18.
The U16 Provincial Xcel Showcase wrapped up this past weekend which saw the Boys team take on TFC Academy and the Girls team take on Canada Soccer’s National Development Centre Ontario's Next Gen Squad.
