The U18 Girls Final at the 2025 Ontario Indoor Cup saw a thrilling showdown between Milton Magic FC HP Blue and Mississauga Soccer Academy Rebels on Sunday afternoon at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan. After a tense battle, Mississauga secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory to lift the championship trophy.

The match started with high energy as both teams pressed early. In the second minute, Milton’s Abbey Kijewski got the first real chance, drawing Mississauga keeper Adria Schultz off her line. The ball bounced dangerously around the net but ultimately stayed out. Mississauga responded quickly, with Maja Cenanovic hitting the crossbar from the top of the box in the third minute and narrowly missing over the net in the fourth.

Milton’s Aaliyah Spence attempted a long-range effort in the sixth minute, but the shot went wide. The deadlock was finally broken in the 13th minute when Cenanovic struck from the corner of the box, sending the ball into the high corner to give Mississauga a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

Milton came out strong in the second half, eager to find an equalizer. Isabella Helinski had an early attempt in the 27th minute that went wide, and a follow-up effort a minute later was cleared by Mississauga’s defense. Kijewski nearly leveled the score in the 31st minute, forcing a save from Schultz before hitting the post. Mikayla Mendini was also denied by the post seconds later.

Mississauga looked to extend their lead, with Sofia Raco testing Milton’s new goalkeeper, Madeline Piccirillo, in the 34th minute. Raco found the net in the 41st minute with a well-placed shot into the top corner, but the goal was disallowed, keeping the score at 1-0. Cenanovic continued to threaten, with a powerful strike in the 44th minute that was blocked by Piccirillo.

Milton remained resilient in the closing minutes. In the 48th minute, Mississauga’s Laila Vloet nearly doubled the lead, but Alexia Alvarado made a crucial defensive stop. In added time, Milton had one last chance when Isabella Velasquez delivered a long pass into the box for Helinski, who got a foot to it but sent the ball over the net.

At the final whistle, Mississauga Soccer Academy Rebels emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, securing the U18 Girls Ontario Indoor Cup title in a tightly contested match. Both teams displayed impressive skill and determination, making for a memorable final.
