The U16 Boys Final at the 2025 Ontario Indoor Cup saw the Thunder Bay Chill secure a 2-0 victory over Futsal Club Toronto in an intense and tightly contested match at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan.
The match began with early pressure from Thunder Bay, as Nathan Miller unleashed a powerful shot in the 5th minute that rattled off the post. Futsal Club Toronto responded with opportunities of their own, including a promising effort from Luke Wells that was saved by Thunder Bay goalkeeper Finley Hebert. Tomek Dyczkowski also tested Hebert in the 20th minute with a strike from range, but the keeper stood firm.
Thunder Bay broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute when Liam Giardetti set up Miller with a perfectly placed header. FC Toronto’s keeper Jacob Gil rushed out to challenge, but Miller coolly slotted the ball into the net. Moments later, FC Toronto’s Mark Panakal had a chance to equalize, but his shot drifted wide.
Thunder Bay doubled their lead in the 25th minute thanks to a brilliant play by Caleb Plasaj. After sprinting down the field, Plasaj received a pass from Miller at the top of the box and calmly placed the ball past Gil.
The second half saw both teams tighten up defensively, with neither side able to find another breakthrough. FC Toronto’s Miles Branco-Pivetta had one of the few notable chances late in the match, but his shot in the 45th minute soared over the crossbar, sealing Thunder Bay’s 2-0 victory.
