The Club has announced the signing of Cloey Uddenberg, a 22-year-old midfielder from Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Play. Inspire. Unite.

AFC Toronto continues to make waves in the buildup to its inaugural Northern Super League (NSL) season, signing its third Made-in-Ontario talent: midfielder Cloey Uddenberg. The Richmond Hill native joins the ranks of other Made-in-Ontario talents: Jade Kovacevic and Leah Pais.

Uddenberg’s journey to professional soccer is nothing short of remarkable. From excelling in Ontario grassroots soccer to representing St. Kitts & Nevis internationally, her career showcases the rich pipeline of Canadian soccer talent. A product of Aurora Soccer Club, she balances coaching the next generation with her professional aspirations, serving as an inspiration to young players across the region.

Her collegiate career began at the University of Guelph, where she was named U SPORTS Rookie of the Year in 2021. She later transferred to South Alabama, where she contributed to an undefeated regular season, and Purdue University, where she solidified her reputation as a consistent and versatile midfielder.

Internationally, Uddenberg has represented St. Kitts & Nevis, captaining the U20 national team, gaining invaluable experience in CONCACAF World Cup and Olympic qualifiers. On home soil, she has earned back-to-back League1 Ontario All-Star honours with Simcoe Rovers FC, where she was also named the 2023 Midfielder of the Year.

Uddenberg's signing signals AFC Toronto and the NSL's commitment to showcasing local talent on a national and global stage. She’s an example of Ontario's ability to produce top-tier soccer talent, demonstrating how local programs like League1 Ontario and grassroots clubs serve as stepping stones to success on the global stage. Her addition strengthens the team’s midfield as they gear up for the NSL’s inaugural season, kicking off in April 2025.

For Uddenberg, joining AFC Toronto represents a significant step in her journey as a player and a chance to inspire the next generation:

This opportunity means so much to me—not just to play close to my friends and family but also to show young girls they can dream big and achieve their goals right here at home. AFC Toronto and the Northern Super League are breaking barriers, and I’m so proud to be part of this moment in Canadian soccer history.

Marko Milanovic, head coach of AFC Toronto, praised Uddenberg’s impact:

Cloey’s versatility and dedication to mastering the fundamentals set her apart. She brings an incredible work ethic and leadership to our squad, and we’re thrilled to see how she’ll elevate our team.
