Made in Ontario Stars Feature Prominently on CANMNT Roster for Concacaf Nations League Quarterfinals

13 of Ontario’s top soccer talents will take centre stage as Canada Soccer's Men's National Team (CANMNT) quest for victory against Suriname in the Concacaf Nations League Quarterfinals this November.

Canada Soccer has revealed the 23-player roster set to compete in the November Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals against Suriname, with a strong contingent of players Made in Ontario. 

The Canadian Men's National Team (CANMNT) will convene in Fort Lauderdale before traveling to Suriname for the first leg on Friday, November 15, at 6:30 p.m. ET. They return to Toronto for the second leg on Tuesday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. ET. 

We're excited to bring this group together with a trophy in sight. Ending 2024 with strong performances is our goal, and Suriname will provide the competitive challenge we need to build on our success from this past summer.

The Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal matchups were set based on October 2024 rankings and group stage outcomes, with Mexico, Canada, USA, and Panama facing off against Honduras, Suriname, Jamaica, and Costa Rica respectively. Winners will advance to the single-leg Finals in March 2025.

Canada’s three goalkeepers this window will be Maxime Crépeau from Portland Timbers, Jonathan Sirois from CF Montréal and Dayne St. Clair from Minnesota United FC. 

Defenders selected are: Moïse Bombito from OGC Nice, Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich, Richie Laryea from Toronto FC, Alistair Johnston from Celtic FC, Jamie Knight-Lebel from Crewe Alexadra (on loan from Bristol City), Kamal Miller from Portland Timbers and Joel Waterman from CF Montréal. 

Midfielders joining the group are: Ali Ahmed from Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Tajon Buchanan from Inter Milan, Mathieu Choinière from Grasshopper Zurich, Stephen Eustáquio from FC Porto, Junior Hoilett from Hibernian FC, Ismaël Koné from Olympique Marseille, Jonathan Osorio  from Toronto FC, Jacob Shaffelburg from Nashville SC and Niko Sigur from Hadjuk Split. 

The rest of the squad will feature forwards: Theo Bair from AJ Auxerre, Jonathan David from LOSC Lille, Cyle Larin from RCD Mallorca and Tani Oluwaseyi from Minnesota United.
