Ontario Soccer recognizes the 14 clubs that will take part in the TELUS She CAN Coach program's second year, highlighting their commitment to increasing the representation of women coaches in grassroots soccer.

Play. Inspire. Unite.

Ontario Soccer is immensely proud of the 14 Ontario Clubs participating in the second year of TELUS She CAN Coach - an initiative by Canada Soccer to increase the representation of women coaches in the grassroots game. The program was established to address the barriers women face in coaching by providing access to tailored training, development opportunities, and comprehensive support for new coaches.

In 2023, the TELUS She CAN Coach program launched with 20 clubs in Alberta and Nova Scotia. Canada Soccer announced in the spring that the TELUS She CAN Coach would be expanding its territory. Now returning for Year 2, the program has grown substantially with 54 clubs across Alberta, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Manitoba and Ontario involved in the effort. The massive expansion of the program in its second year reflects its impact and Canada Soccer's commitment to gender equity and empowering women in all facets of the game.

Supporting Women Coaches at the Grassroots Level

The TELUS She CAN Coach program focuses on women interested in beginning or advancing their coaching journeys. The program supports participants through Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Coach Education, breaking down barriers and providing tools for long-term success. By nurturing women coaches at the grassroots level, the initiative helps to create lasting change not only in soccer but in community leadership as well.

We are thrilled to welcome 54 clubs into the second year of the TELUS She CAN Coach program. This tremendous growth reflects the incredible dedication of the soccer community to support and empower women in coaching. As we expand the program, we remain committed to ensuring that women coaches have the tools and resources they need to thrive and create lasting change in Canadian soccer.

& Fund Development at Canada Soccer
