On Saturday afternoon at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Glen Shields Juventus FC delivered a commanding 7-0 victory over London Alliance FC Mustangs to win the U16 Girls MilkUP Ontario Cup Final.
London showed early intent with the first shot of the game just three minutes in, as Mara Smith took a crack from distance, but her effort went wide of the mark. Glen Shields wasted no time responding. On the counterattack, Gabriella Fadel sent Viktoria Brodar on a brilliant run, and Brodar raced past the London defense, finishing with a stunning right-footed strike into the top corner to give Glen Shields the 1-0 lead.
In the 17th minute, Glen Shields doubled their advantage off a well-executed free kick. Chloe Accardi stepped up and unleashed a powerful right-footed shot that went bar down, leaving the London keeper with no chance.
London struggled to find their footing against Glen Shields' relentless pressure. In the 32nd minute, London’s Norah Benson fired from range, but Michaela Tito, Glen Shields’ goalkeeper, made a dramatic diving save to preserve her clean sheet. Just two minutes later, Glen Shields struck again. This time, Reina Karout shook off multiple defenders before launching a shot from outside the box that sailed over the London keeper’s hands and into the net, making it 3-0 before halftime.
London came out stronger in the second half but struggled to break through Glen Shields’ defense. Despite their efforts, Glen Shields continued their dominance. In the 64th minute, Kali Burnett added a fourth goal, dribbling past a defender and finishing coolly. Just a minute later, Burnett struck again, stealing the ball, turning quickly, and beating the goalkeeper for her second goal in as many minutes.
Burnett completed her hat trick in the 69th minute after a perfect through ball from Fadel left her one-on-one with the keeper. She calmly slotted the ball home, extending the lead to 6-0.
London’s Jordyn Hardy Camara came close to pulling one back for her side in the 78th minute, but her shot went wide. Glen Shields put the final nail in the coffin in the 84th minute when Victoria Pimenta capitalized on a loose ball in the box, slotting it into the net to cap off a dominant 7-0 performance.
