Congratulations to the outstanding Match Officials who were appointed to the highly anticipated 2024 Provincial Xcel Ontario-Québec Series series held at the Zanchin Automotive Centre from May 17 to 19. This year, the time-honoured event featured 16 thrilling matches that showcased the talent and dedication of 24 young Match Officials hailing from communities across the province.
Below is the list of the Match Officials and their respective Districts who contributed to the success of the event:
Our Match Officials demonstrated exceptional skill and expertise throughout the entire weekend. This series provided a valuable opportunity for them to learn from their assigned crews and enhance their officiating expertise in a competitive setting.
“These officials were identified through the OPDL and nominated by their Districts to attend this event. Although the average age was under 22 years old, the Match Officials showed a high level of professionalism and were willing to learn," said David Barrie, Ontario Soccer's Manager of Match Official Development.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Assessors who supported and guided our Match Officials: Adrianna Krencil, Emile Schultz, Nadia Shenurina, Justin Tasev, Marlene Ford, Mark Roberts, Lowell Williamson, and Vito Curalli. Their dedication and expertise played a crucial role in the success of the event.
