London Alliance FC defeat North Mississauga Soccer Club 4-0 to win the 2024 Ontario Indoor Cup Presented by Sport Chek.

Play. Inspire. Unite.

It was London Alliance FC against North Mississauga Soccer Club Sunday afternoon at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre. London came out triumphant in the U18 Girls Final at the 2024 Ontario Indoor Cup Presented by Sport Chek, winning the match 4-0 immediately after the Club’s U13 Girls won 6-0 over Milton.

It would seem that North Mississauga was the more aggressive side on offense, with their team making the first few scoring attempts in the opening minutes of the game. Alexus Worrell and Sarah Lucas both tried to put their squad on the scoreboard, to no avail.

London had a great opportunity at the end of the fifth minute, but this is when North Mississauga keeper Addison Green made her first of many big saves. Green had a repeat performance in the seventh minute when she dove and deflected a long-range attempt by London’s Alison Williams.

It was Alana Kendrick who eventually opened the scoring with a masterful play in the 15th minute. Kendrick made her way around a North Mississauga defender and drove straight toward the net, shooting directly at the keeper. Green got a foot on the ball, but it wasn’t enough to stop the shot, giving London the first goal of the match.

Kendrick came back for another goal in the 21st minute, this time taking a shot from distance, aimed directly into the low corner of the net.

To finish off the half, Mya Steller scored the third goal for London Alliance FC. Steller stood wide open off a corner kick, and easily placed the ball into the net.

In the second half, North Mississauga had a few great chances to get on the scoreboard, but none of the opportunities worked out. London keeper Adriana Borm made a crucial save in the 28th minute when North Mississauga’s Sienna Manuel tried to sneak the ball past her.

Another golden opportunity came to North Mississauga in the 31st minute when Borm came out of position for a loose ball. Unfortunately, no offensive players were in the right place at the right time, and a London defender was able to clear the ball away from the net.

Annelise Borm scored the final goal for London in the 39th minute. After a perfectly-timed pass from Delfina Taylor, Annelise Borm approached Green head-on and shot the ball right past her, into the back of the net.
