Technical Director’s Diploma

An Overview:

The course focuses on defining the Technical Director’s role, providing the necessary tools and enhancing the skillsets required to meet the ever-evolving demands of the position.

• Player, Coach & Match Officials development
• Holistic program development & delivery
• Canada Soccer & Ontario Soccer’s programs; including the Talented Pathway
• Business skills, management & leadership styles
• Strategic, operational, technical & communications planning
• Human resource development
• And much more…

What are the course pre-requisites?

Prior to applying for a place on the Technical Director’s Diploma course, candidates must have completed the following:

• Canada Soccer C Licence Certified
• Make Ethical Decisions Course + Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation
• Respect in Sport Online Module
• Making Headway in Soccer Online Module
• NCCP Emergency Action Planning
• NCCP Understanding the Rule of 2

Please note: All applicants must submit an up-to-date CV, copy of their NCCP transcript, a Letter of Intent, a Letter of Recommendation from the Club, and two references via the Application Portal by no later than Monday, January 8, 2024  Monday, January 15, 2024.

Structure of the course

The course will be delivered through a variety of in-person and virtual modules to support learners as they navigate the content over the year. There will also be a significant amount of off-site work required ahead of each module as well as post-module assignments to enhance learning through application. In-person dates (Ontario Soccer Centre - 7601 Martin Grove Road - Vaughan, Ontario):

• March 4 to 7, 2024
• May 14 to 16, 2024
• September 16 to 19, 2024
• November 12 to 13, 2024

Virtual dates:

• Bi-weekly Thursday’s (February to November)

Please note: 100% attendance and engagement is required for the duration of the course. When online, candidates must be in a workspace that allows them to actively participate in the course with their cameras on. 

What is the cost?

• $1,500

*Residency option available at an additional cost for those requiring to travel extensively for the in-person modules.
