September 27 is #RowansLawDay, named after the young athlete behind Ontario’s concussion safety law. 

Rowan Stringer was a high school rugby player from Ottawa who passed away in the spring of 2013 from a condition called second impact syndrome. It is believed she experienced three concussions over six days while playing rugby, 

As a result of Rowan's death, Rowan's Law and Rowan's Law Day were established to honour her memory and bring awareness to concussions and concussion safety.
