Play. Inspire. Unite.

It was London Alliance FC Mustangs vs DCFC Academy Black Scarborough on Saturday afternoon at the Ontario Soccer Centre. The teams were neck-in-neck as they competed for the U15 Boys 2023 MilkUP Ontario Cup, but DCFC ended up clinching the win with a score of 3-2 in penalties

The opposing sides went back and forth across the pitch, challenging one another other with reactive offense and defense all over the pitch. The teams came in hot, with each team getting yellow carded within the first 10 minutes of play.

London’s Felipe Cubillos nearly opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but Dutch Connections goalkeeper, Max Drakul, blocked the shot just in time.

Dutch Connections would eventually get the game’s opening goal in the 41st minute after an impressive assist by Matthew Joseph. He crossed the ball over to Roman Kolszewski, who was perfectly positioned for a header into the net.

London’s equalizing goal wouldn’t come until the 88th minute when forward Mateo Murataj beat multiple defenders to a long ball forward, and slotted the ball home in a tidy finish.

The scoreboard remained tied at 1-1 until added time had run out, leading to a penalty shootout that put Dutch Connection’s goalkeeper Drakul and London’s Eli North on the spot. Both rose to the challenge with some impressive saves, but in the end, Dutch Connections claimed the hard-fought victory with a 3-2 shootout win.
