In the final game of the weekend, Kleinburg Nobleton SC met with Oriental SC Cambridge in the Boys U21 division. For the second year in a row, Kleinburg claimed the MilkUP Ontario Cup U21 Men’s title, after a highly competitive final match.
The teams played outside despite the previous match being sent indoors due to lightning and thunderstorms.
It was Kleinburg who took the early lead, opening the scoring in the sixth minute, and adding a second in the 24th. Despite the significant early deficit, Oriental kept battling and got one back in the 31st minute. Oriental continued to fight, and was awarded with the tying goal, early in the second half.
The score would remain tied 2-2 until the 84th minute when Kleinburg’s #7 El Desouky would be awarded, and convert the game winning penalty.
The 2023 MilkUP Ontario Cup Finals continue in September, with two additional weekends of games to determine the remaining champions of the year.
