Play. Inspire. Unite.

Last month, Canadian Women and Sport recognized 90 sport organizations for their work in engaging more girls and gender-diverse people in sport and physical activity as part of The Next Play grant program.

Of the 90 sport organizations, 8 were members of the Ontario Soccer family. These Clubs include:

  • Brampton Soccer Club
  • Brams United Girls Soccer Club
  • St. Catharines Club Roma Soccer
  • North York FC
  • North Toronto Soccer Club Nitros/Kicks
  • Richmond Hill Soccer Club
  • Toronto Azzurri Soccer Club
  • Unionville Milliken Soccer Club

Congratulations to these Ontario Soccer Clubs for leading the charge with gender equity in our community. Along with our Premier Partner BMO, Lead Partner of Ontario Soccer’s gender equity and empowerment initiatives, we look forward to making the game of soccer both equitable and accessible to all.

Made possible by funding from the Ontario Government, The Next Play program aims to empower Ontario sport leaders with the skills they need to engage more girls in sport and active recreation.
