Week two of the 2023 Canadian Premier League season took place over the April 22 weekend, and all three Ontario Clubs were in action in search of a first win after a pair of draws and a loss last week.
In the opening match of week two, York United fell to Vancouver FC 1-2 at York Lions Stadium. York managed to score their first goal of the year, but fall to 0-2 on the season with the defeat. In separate news, York announced updates to its ownership team.
In their second game of the season, Hamilton Forge took on HFX Wanders and played out to another draw, with the final score ending 1-1. With the result, Hamilton go to 0-0-2 on the season. In related news, Forge’s Alessandro Hojabrpour hit the incredible milestone of 100 games played for CPL Clubs.
Atlético Ottawa took on Valour FC at IG Field in the CPL’s game of the week. The teams drew to a 1-1 draw pushing Atlético’s record to 0-0-2. Atlético will take on York United at TD Place in an all Ontario battle in week three.
