The 2023 Canadian Premier League season kicked off this weekend as the league entered its milestone fifth season. All eight clubs, including Ontario's three teams, were in action between Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16.
In the opening game of the season on Saturday, April 15 1:00 p.m. EDT, Atlético Ottawa hosted HFX Wanderers at TD Place Stadium, where the teams played out to t 1-1 draw.
The second game of the season on Saturday, April 15 4:00 p.m. EDT, saw Ontario side, Hamilton Forge, draw 2-2 with Cavalry FC at Tim Horton's Field.
In the final game of the opening weekend of the 2023 CPL season, York United fell to Valour FC 2-0 at York Lions Stadium.
