2023 Ontario Soccer Summit – What You Need to Know

The weather may be cold and snowy, but the Summit is going to be HOT HOT HOT with ground-breaking content, amazing networking opportunities, and a schedule that just won’t quit!

We are t-minus one day until delegates, speakers, partners, and volunteers/staff gather to learn and lead once again.

Session Information (Arrive Early)
All sessions will begin promptly as scheduled. Please ensure you arrive 10-15 minutes in advance of each session to secure your seat and allow the session to commence on time. Please remember that this is a sold-out event with a capacity crowd. Be a leader and do your part to keep proceedings running smoothly. Delegates and guests arriving after their session has begun will be seated at the discretion of Summit Event Staff. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Timing for Pizza Dinner and Speed Networking – Friday Night
In order to ensure a quick and easy transit between CRX and the 7:00 p.m. Keynote Address at Marion Hall, a delicious pizza dinner will be available starting at 4:30 p.m. in the CRX Lobby and Speed Networking will begin at 5:30 p.m. (15 minutes earlier than originally scheduled!).

SportsEngine Help Hub
On Saturday, February 25 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., SportsEngine will have staff in CRX Room C320 and C321 (near the elevators on the third floor). Times can be booked via the booking links below. Drop-Ins are also welcome.

Speed Networking
We are happy to share our speed networkers with you today! The session will be split between an Admin Classroom and a Technical Classroom. Please choose the classroom that is more appropriate for your interests. Guest Networkers will be revealed on the Whova app - be sure to check out the announcement in the Community section of the app.

Men’s Ontario Futsal Cup
Coinciding with the Ontario Soccer Summit is the Men’s Ontario Futsal Cup. Taking place over the weekend in the Monpetit Gym, teams from across the province will battle for provincial glory. Schedule is as follows:

  • Friday Games at 7:00 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
  • Saturday Games at 7:00 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
  • Sunday Games at 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Consider checking out the Saturday night or Sunday lunch time games and witness the passion, skill and energy on display by some of the best Futsal players in Canada.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW - VOLUME 1 CONTENT BELOW:

Jam-packed from start to finish, the schedule opens with a Pizza Dinner & Speed Networking Event at the University of Ottawa on Friday, February 24 and carries on with incredible pace and content until Sunday, February 26 at noon. As event kick-off fast approaches, here is some important information to prepare you for all the action:

Session Registrations
Delegates who are part of a group are urged to register for their individual sessions of choice. Please reach out to your group leaders for your password and instructions on how to do so. Especially if you want your printed nametag. Production of nametags is underway and the final set of nametags will be sent to print on February 21. Don’t delay! Register today!

Speaking of Nametags…
Once you pick up your badge at registration, be sure to keep it with you at all times. It will ensure you gain access to all of the Summit related events, and will be used to give you access to different perks. More details to be shared soon!

Host Venue: University of Ottawa
The Ontario Soccer Summit 2023 content sessions will be delivered at the University of Ottawa’s Main Campus and Lees Campus locations. The main locations include:

  • Learning Crossroads (CRX)       100 Louis-Pasteur Private              Summit Central Hub
  • Marion Hall (MNT)                       140 Louis-Pasteur Private               Summit Main Stage Location
  • Lees Dome                                     200 Lees                                         On-Field Sessions
  • Lees Classroom                            200 Lees                                        Technical Classroom Sessions

Parking will be available for $9 per day at the University of Ottawa locations listed below. Please note, there will be no in/out privileges with parking and Ontario Soccer will not be responsible for any infractions. Attendees are urged to use the transportation methods listed in the next section.

Alternate Parking Options
The City of Ottawa has municipal lots that may suit your parking needs. Please visit their website for more information.

Dietary Groups at University of Ottawa
If you provided us with dietary information, you will fall into one of two scenarios:

  1. You can be accommodated by the normal menu at the University Dining Hall
  2. You have been contacted by Ontario Soccer to confirm that a separate plate will be waiting for you in a designated area.

Host Hotels – The Westin Ottawa and Les Suites Hotel
Attendees who secured hotel accommodations through the Ontario Soccer hotel block will be staying at the Westin Ottawa Hotel or Les Suites Hotel. Parking will be available at the hotels at $28 per day. Please check with the hotel for in/out privilege information. Find more information on both hotels here.

Hub has you Covered - Take a break from driving, and save on parking!!
Our Safe Passage Transportation Partner Hub has stepped up to assist with travel by providing attendees with a Saturday Day Pass for Ottawa’s O-Train system: OC Transpo.  Attendees are urged to use OC Transpo to travel between event locations, which are conveniently located on the O-Train line (Ottawa’s light rail system), with trains arriving every five minutes, and only 1-2 minutes transit time between sites. You will receive your rail pass when you register onsite.
