In the final game of the 2023 Ontario Indoor Cup, it was Glen Shields Juventus FC against Mississauga SC in the Boys U18 division, and the game got off to a blistering start.
Two minutes in, Mississauga striker Anthony Morano opened the scoring, as he finished a break away after pinching the ball from the last defender. Moments later, Morano would double his tally after he beat the last defender to a long ball forward and finished past the keeper on a semi-break away.
On the ensuing kick, Juventus immediately won a kick in, in the Mississauga half. On the kick in, the ball would be delivered to Dante Lomangino, who spun and fired a rocket on the half volley into the back of the net to put Juventus on the board.
Both teams would threaten with some good chances throughout the remainder of the half, but the score would remain 2-1 for North Mississauga into halftime.
The second half also got off to a blistering start.
Two minutes in, Lomangino would get his second and complete the comeback, as he smashed home a loose ball that fell to him quite fortunately.
The game would remain tied at 2-2 for a few minutes, but the action would eventually pick up to the blistering pace. In the 37th minute, Juventus would take the lead thanks to Alexander Rogozovski, who finished some nice one touch passes by smashing the ball into the roof.
Seconds later, Juventus would double their lead off the foot of Kevaughn Tavernier and a few seconds after that, Mississauga would reply with a goal from Moreno, who completed his hat trick to bring the score to 4-3.
With the game once again in the balance following a flurry of goals, Juventus once again found the back of the net to give them some breathing room on route to a 5-3 victory to win the 2023 Boys U18 Indoor Cup Championship.
