Going from worst in 2021 to first in 2022, Atlético Ottawa will host the 2022 Canadian Premier League Final, taking on Hamilton-based club Forge FC in all-Ontario battle for the North Star Shield.

Atlético Ottawa advanced to their first ever Canadian Premier League Final after drawing 1-1 with Pacific FC, and winning the semifinal tie 3-1 on aggregate. They are facing Forge FC who are headed to a fourth straight Canadian Premier League final after beating Cavalry FC 2-1 (3-2 on aggregate) in semifinal play.

Nathan Ingham leads the way for Atlético Ottawa, as the former Markham SC youth player and current Golden Glove nominated keeper, will try backstop Ottawa to their first CPL Final Championship.

Forge FC will be without their veteran captain Kyle Bekker, as the former Oakville, Mississauga Dixie, and Sigma FC youth player, will sit due to suspension, as Forge FC march into their fourth consecutive CPL Finals.
