Team Ontario Men’s opened their 20022 Canada Summer Games campaign with a resounding 7-0 victory over the North West Territories on Sunday. The team got off to a lightning fast start, scoring six first half goals, highlighted by a hat trick by Forward Adrian Panaite. The second half was more contested as Team Ontario was content to sit back on their big league, but did score an additional late goal in the 73 minute to cap the 7-0 victory.

Team Ontario Head Coach Anthony Capotosto, was very pleased with his team’s performance saying, they moved the ball well, controlled possession and found openings with runs in behind the NT back line. However, he did add that he would like to see his team manage a full game and not sit back so much with the lead.

Team Ontario followed with a second victory over Saskatchewan with a 3-0 win yesterday afternoon.

The two wins mean Team Ontario will finish top of Pool A, followed by Saskatchewan, who beat North West Territories 3-1 in their other game, with NT finishing third. Team Ontario will face New Brunswick in the semi-finals tomorrow at 7:20 p.m.
