Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer and the Government of Ontario, continues to monitor the most recent developments surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the resulting public health crisis and Ontario Soccer’s Return to Play Plan.

In light of the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario Soccer has made the difficult decision today to cancel the 2021 edition of the Ontario Indoor Cup.

The Ontario Indoor Cup is a young competition in comparison to the Ontario Outdoor Cup, which was first played in 1901. The Ontario Indoor Cup competition began in 1987 and over the years, has moved from boarded facilities, to the former Skydome and then to soccer-specific venues.

Ontario Soccer took into account the regional and provincial realities of the requirements to host the Ontario Indoor Cup in early 2021, as well as the challenges of completing competitions due to the restriction of matches in some regions.

The health and safety of our participants was considered first and foremost in our decision.

The Ontario Indoor Cup competition will return in 2022.
