Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer and the Government of Ontario, continues to monitor the most recent developments surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the resulting public health crisis and Ontario Soccer’s Return to Play Plan.

The Government of Ontario recently amended Ontario Regulation 364/20 under the Reopening Ontario (A Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020. The Regulation now requires businesses and facilities across all of Ontario to screen workers, including contractors, students, volunteers or essential visitors like service providers.

Ontario Soccer is asking that member organizations, if applicable, now update their organization’s Return to Play plans to include this provision for all facilities.

The Return to Play Guide has been updated and now includes a Return to Office Protocol, screening questionnaire and additional guidance for members to use in managing their facilities and this new requirement.

Any worker who does not pass the screening protocol should be directed to inform their supervisor as soon as possible. The worker should not be permitted to enter the facility and should self-isolate, and call their health care provider or Telehealth Ontario.

If the worker passes the screening requirement, the worker is permitted to enter the facility, but should be instructed to report any symptoms or changes immediately.

The completed COVID-19 screening questionnaires must be made available to public health inspectors upon request.
