Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer and the Government of Ontario, continues to monitor the most recent developments surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the resulting public health crisis and Ontario Soccer’s Return to Play Plan.
The Government of Ontario announced today that it was taking steps to curb the spread of COVID-19 in what it has deemed as ‘hotspot’ communities.
The declaration of these hotspot communities comes with tighter public health restrictions on restaurants, gyms, workplaces and other meeting spaces.
Effective immediately, the Government of Ontario has stated the following regions are impacted by today’s announcement:
Ontario Soccer is reviewing today’s announcement with Government Health and Sport officials over the coming days and will provide further information, if needed, on any impact to Ontario Soccer’s Return to Play protocols, for these regions.
Member organizations are encouraged to stay in contact with their local Public Health Unit and Municipality in the event these organizations have implemented additional restrictions that may impact their soccer operations.
