Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer and governmental advisors, continues to monitor the most recent developments surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the resulting public health crisis.
In order to continue to service our Match Official membership in the best form possible, the Entry Level, Small Sided, Small Sided Assistant Referee and the Mentor Accreditation Clinics will be delivered online in 2020.
All currently approved Clinics, and future Clinics will be moved to this new delivery method until further notice by Ontario Soccer.
Ontario Soccer is working on the creation and implementation of this new education system and we are aiming to launch the online clinics by early May.
In addition, Ontario Soccer is working on the planning and logistics for Match Official instructors to deliver regionally based practical sessions once the Provincial and Municipal facilities closures have concluded. These sessions will be hosted in areas where Clinic Hosts are located.
Ontario Soccer ask that all approved Match Officials clinics maintain their status, and we will be connecting directly with host leads over the upcoming weeks. If you still wish to apply for a Clinic, this can be done through your Refcentre Administration account.
In addition, Ontario Soccer recently addressed Match Official registration in bulletin I2020-034 and has developed a Match Official specific FAQ to address additional questions, which will be shared next week.
Ontario Soccer appreciates your patience and understanding as we navigate through this challenging period.
If you have any further questions, please contact Nicky Pearson, Senior Manager, Match Official Development.
