To further support Ontario Soccer’s membership during this challenging time, today we are sharing two resource documents to guide your soccer organization’s decision making from a Financial and Leadership Management perspective.

Play. Inspire. Unite.

Ontario Soccer, in consultation with Canada Soccer and public health authorities have been monitoring the most recent developments of COVID-19 and continue to assess the situation on a daily basis as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold.

To further support Ontario Soccer’s membership during this challenging time, today we are sharing two resource documents to guide your soccer organization’s decision making from a Financial and Leadership Management perspective.

The first resource is a summary from Ontario’s Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture on the Federal Economic Response Plan.

The document summarizes recent support programs announced as part of the Government of Canada’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan, in addition to other business credit and liquidity support measures that have also been announced. These measures include an $82 billion stimulus package with up to $27.4 billion in direct support and $55 billion to help business liquidity through tax deferrals.

It includes direction for many small-to medium-sized businesses and not-for-profit organizations, in addition to part-time, self-employed, independent contractors and freelance workers who are more vulnerable to significant economic impacts from sudden loss of earnings.

The second resource for Ontario Soccer’s membership, from the Sport Law and Strategy Group, provides a further breakdown of the programs available as part of the Economic Response Plan and offers guidance for managing your organization, employees and business through an unsettled time.
