The U-14 Boys Ontario Indoor Cup final featured the London Alliance FC Mustangs taking on Prostars FC 2006 Blue.
To advance to the final, the Prostars went undefeated in Group A action on the Saturday, defeating London Alliance along the way. They then defeated Caledon in the semi-finals, to book their spot in Sunday’s final.
After falling to Prostars in their first game, London won two straight and defeated the Brampton Elite Soccer Academy in the semi-finals to set up the rematch.
Lucas Ozimec got things going early for Prostars with a goal in the first minute. A burst of pace and low drive saw his shot find the back of the net giving them a 1-0 lead.
Ozimec would add another goal for Prostars with nine minutes left in the first half when his shot took a deflection off the London defender and fooled the keeper, making it 2-0 for Prostars.
Noah Barna-Zuzic increased the Prostars advantage with three minutes remaining in the first half. He made a good solo run and looped his shot from outside the box over the keeper to bring it to 3-0.
London would pull one back before the end of the half, as Deseron Thomas broke down the left wing and slotted his shot into the far corner, making it 3-1.
Erik Pop would restore the Prostars lead shortly after the restart when he intercepted a pass from the Alliance keeper and calmly slotted it into the back of the net.
Giuseppe Muffolini found his way on to the Prostars scoresheet, adding a fifth goal for his side, when his rocket of a shot beat the London keeper to increase their lead to 5-1.
Jacob Nogueira would make it 6-1 for Prostars when he tapped in a shot from in close.
Alliance refused to go away quietly. With 10 minutes remaining, Isiah Loague pounced on a rebound and chipped the Prostars keeper to cut the lead to 6-2.
Dion Thomas got in on the action for Prosters as he restored the lead to 7-2 when his shot went bar down and in.
Ozimec completed his hattrick with five minutes remaining and made it 8-2 for the Prostars.
Metro Pasquini tapped in a ninth goal for Prostars with two minutes remaining.
That would be all they would need on the day, as Prostars went on to secure the U-14 Boys Ontario Indoor Cup title.
