The first four champions of 2020 have been crowned in Ontario.

The U-16 and U-14 Boys and Girls Ontario Indoor Cup 2020 wrapped up this weekend at the Ontario Soccer Centre 

The teams were divided into two groups and played a tournament round on the Saturday.

First and second place in group play advanced to the semi-finals on Sunday, with the semi-final winners moving on to the finals later in the day. 

The Prostars FC and Alliance FC London met twice in the finals, with the boys sides facing each other in the U-16 and U-14 division championships respectively and taking home one title a piece. 

Glen Shields FC came from behind to win in the U-16 Girls Ontario Indoor Cup while Erin Mills Eagles were steady in their U-14 Ontario Indoor Cup win.

The Ontario Indoor Cup is a young competition in comparison to the outdoor cup which was first played in 1901. The Ontario Indoor Cup began in 1987 and over the years it has moved from boarded facilities, to the former Skydome and then to soccer specific no board venues.

The popularity of the indoor game has resulted in a demand for the Ontario Indoor Cup in most age divisions. The level of participation has taken the competition from a centrally staged Round-Robin format, to regional play-downs across the province, culminating with the Final Round hosted at The Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan.
