The 2019 Masters Provincial Championships wrapped for both the male and female divisions this weekend.

The women’s division was decided in a three-round robin style battle for gold with the final match of the weekend against London Azzuri and Ottawa International determining the winner off the field.

Scarborough GS United, who debuted in the tournament for the first time, snatched gold on Sunday without ever kicking a ball after London Azzuri overtook Ottawa International 2-1 at Victoria Park in Brampton.

Scarborough earned themselves one victory and one tie to capture the title.

They first played London Azzuri on Friday and defeated them 1-0. Scarborough then followed that victory with a well-fought 0-0 tie against Ottawa International on Saturday, putting them out front of London and Ottawa on Sunday for the championship title.

Having won gold at the 2019 Masters Provincial Championships advances Scarborough to the Canadian Regional Championships.

London Azzuri and Ottawa are also former Masters Provincial winners. After defeating Ottawa in the final Women’s match of the weekend, London Azzuri goes home with silver.
